Alexander Skarsgard Might Head To 'The East'
Hot off the heels of "Battleship," Alexander Skarsgard is lining up plenty of new film projects to keep him busy during his "True Blood" off-season. The latest of these is Brit Marling's thriller "The East," The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The flick follows a female agent who penetrates an eco-terrorist group called The East. THR says that if the deal happens, Skarsgard will play the head of the group who is seeking revenge against unethical corporations. Check out the rest of today's casting news after the jump! Oona Chaplin Confirmed As Jeyne Westerling In "Game Of Thrones" There had been news swirling for a while that Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter, Oona Chaplin, had come on board "Game of Thrones" as a character named Jeyne. Unfortunately there are two major characters in "Game of Thrones" second-season storylines named Jeyne, so it was unclear who Chaplin would be playing. Finally Comic Book Movie confirmed Chaplin will be playing Jeyne Westerling, a minor character in season two who serves a very important and tragic role come book three. Robb Stark, you better watch out! Cody Horn Is The Female Lead In "Magic Mike" "Magic Mike" now has its leading lady to accompany all the sexy men who have been cast over the past week. The Playlist has learned Cody Horn, the daughter of Warner Bros. president Alan Horn, has landed the role of leading man Alex Pettyfer's sister Paige. She ends up having a romance with Channing Tatum's character in the movie. "Magic Mike" also stars Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello and Riley Keough. Jason Segel Joins The Cast Of "This Is Forty"? It turns out that Jason Segel's "Knocked Up" character hasn't given up the hope of winning Leslie Mann over, because new set photos have shown that he is a part of the cast of "This Is Forty." Leading lady Megan Fox posted a photo to her Facebook of her taking a swim on set with Segel and costar Chris O'Dowd. "Two very handsome, very tall, VERY funny men," she wrote. There had been pictures swirling around back in July of Segel on set with Mann, but this is the closest confirmation there is that he is actually in the movie. I'm assuming he'll be reprising his role from "Knocked Up," but director/writer Judd Apatow could surprise us and create a new role for the "Muppets" star. "This Is Forty" hits theaters June 1, 2012. Djimon Hounsou Will Be The Angel Of Death In "Paradise Lost" With Benjamin Walker on board as the archangel Michael in Alex Proyas' adaptation of "Paradise Lost," it only makes sense that the angel of death Abdiel would be cast next. /Film has learned that "Gladiator" star Djimon Hounsou has landed that role. He will play a pivotal role in the three days of battle that follow Satan's defection and rebellion against God. "Paradise Lost" is scheduled for release in late 2013. Caleb Landry Jones Comes On Board "Byzantium" Variety is reporting that Caleb Landry Jones, the actor best known for his role in "X-Men: First Class," has landed the male lead in Neil Jordan's supernatural drama, "Byzantium." He'll be joining Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton in the flick as a teenager dying of leukemia, a tragedy that forces him to struggle with his mortality. EXCLUSIVE: Endemol has released Endemol Galleries, an inhouse shingle which will concentrate on scripted TV production having a game plan which includes deficit financing of series. The division will further develop current Endemol USA projects whilst adapting Endemol programs from all over the world, by using the potential for directly enjoying the continuing financial advantages of their success. Co-production partners will end up involved on the situation-by-situation basis.Philippe Maigret, that has been professional veep of The United States purchases for Endemol since March 2010, will run Endemol Galleries, confirming to Endemol The United States chairman David Goldberg. Jeremy Gold, who in 2008 released Endemol USA's scripted TV development division -- which lately developed AMC's "Hell on Wheels," set to bow November. 6 -- will serveas Endemol Galleries mind of creative matters. Endemol Galleries was produced "for all of us to have the ability to internally develop with considerably more assets, therefore we can purchase projects, buy scripts and ... deficit on individuals projects and move ahead,Inch Goldberg told Variety. "Endemol USA's scripted division continues to be basically developing a variety of scripted programming (without) a facility to really finance projects if they become recognized."Maigret stated the unit's experience up to now gave executives the confidence to maneuver forward strongly within the scripted arena."Whenever we were searching at our success this year and early 2011 and searching at the way you would scale up, (we came to the conclusion) the best factor to complete would be to construct your own capacity," he stated. "There's only a lot strong commercial content that people can buy that people can co-finance."While "Hell on Wheels" wasn't the only reason in order to obtain Endemol Galleries, it demonstrates the motivation to grow and also the readiness to weigh risk. "For the reason that and through other encounters, we recognized that it would be unlikely we'd use whatever significant upside in scripted unless of course we now have skin in the overall game," Goldberg stated. "I believe we'll develop strongly but invest cautiously, particularly at first.InchMaigret stated: "We invested some time to build up an agenda to produce e-commerce the management team would endorse, at an amount where we're able to develop a significant business however with limited downside. We now have made broad presumptions when it comes to developing projects (and) deficit-financing a few of these projects and potentially some third-party projects which come to us already developed. ... Not 20 or 30 of these -- we'll increase, but we now have the assets to achieve that.InchMaigret added that Endemol will make the most of its "strong distribution platform," Endemol Worldwide Distribution, which handles such exterior privileges purchases as TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland" and TNT's "Leverage." EWD will shepherd TV and homevideo privileges for Endemol Studio productions (under Maigret's oversight), while Endemol Worldwide Brands will manage all ancillary privileges.Goldberg stressed that without coming to a hard-and-fast rules about genre, Endemol Galleries will initially concentrate on hourlong cable drama with worldwide appeal, a place he states is a touch less costly and it has a greater rate of success than broadcast series and half-hour comedies do. "So we are not walking out saying, 'We're in each and every business in each and every cost point no matter this content,A " Goldberg stated. "We not have the same pockets and assets of the major studio, and we are going to get it done inside a more conservative fashion. However, like our growth about the nonscripted side, we'll expand once the business warrants that people achieve this.Inch Maigret pointed towards the elevated interest in scripted dramas on cable and alternative platforms including Netflix, Hulu as well as direct consumer services like Walmart's, in accordance with the relatively couple of creating galleries (for example Lionsgate and Entertainment One) involved."We are searching at methods to develop our business," Maigret stated. "There is a strong sense the U.S. scripted TV business is going to do that. ... Despite 'Hell on Wheels,' we now have this type of limited presence within the greatest segment of television costs within the world's greatest market."Endemol Galleries will even goal to higher exploit Endemol projects from outdoors U.S. edges, with Goldberg observing that "many of the stuff that we now have within the development pipeline are existing qualities from your sister companies abroad." Endemol's well-established nonscripted side ("Your Government," "Extreme Transformation: Home Edition," "Wipeout") will stay located with Endemol The United States. Funds from Endemol Galleries will not be utilized for seed profit nonscripted, Goldberg stated, but the truth that he's managing both areas "causes it to be very symbiotic."Goldberg offered no specific timetable when ever the brand new arrangement would yield programming, but stated, "we are open for business.""As everyone knows, the scripted business moves a little reduced compared to nonscripted business due to the mechanics of this development process," Goldberg stated, "but the moment it's reasonably possible to invest in scripted programming, we'll. "It's exciting for all of us because we clearly have to still evolve and broaden our business, and i believe it's exciting for that community that there are another entity that is available where one can bring your products -- and i believe we'll be very favorable to dealing with the creative community." First Look at Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover
We've caught glimpses of Leonardo DiCaprio as FBI director J. Edgar Hoover from paparazzi photos, but the first official movie images from 'J. Edgar' have just been released to EW. DiCaprio plays the notorious G-man who revolutionized crimefighting as the head of the bureau with then-cutting-edge forensics, but ended up a power-mad official who illegally taped phones and threatened civil rights leaders. What about those rumors that Hoover liked to cross-dress? Will we see Leo in drag? Director Clint Eastwood tells EW, "the movie leaves it open to interpretation." 'The Social Network's Armie Hammer (pictured with DiCpario in the above photo) plays associate FBI director Clyde Tolson, who was rumored to be Hoover's lover, but don't expect any love scenes between the two. See more photos, and more about the movie, after the jump. With all those secrets and scandals at his fingertips, Hoover was untouchable, says Eastwood." Here's this guy starting the Bureau of Investigation, which later became the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and then goes on to stay for 48 years through eight presidents," Eastwood says. "Of course nobody could fire him, because he had something on everybody." Whether Hoover was keeping a whopper of a secret of his own is up for debate. Eastwood tells EW he deliberately kept Hoover's love life ambiguous. "Some people might interpret [him as being gay]. Some people might say [he and Tolson] were just inseparable pals. Or maybe it's a love story without being gay, I don't know. But it's very interesting, the way [screenwriter Dustin] Lance [Black] aid out the script. It was nicely written. It didn't go to the obvious." "I started to become curious about the 'why,'" says Black, who won an Oscar for 2008's 'Milk.' "He did wonderful things for this country, but why did he end up doing so many things that were heinous and harmful? I think it was all in the name of trying to fill that void, where love goes, with public admiration. This is a guy who from his earliest years was told he could never express the love he felt." The movie hits theaters November 9, just in time for the awards season. Do you think it'll rack up a lot of Oscar nominations? [via EW]

Five Good Reasons To See 'Final Destination 5'
For my money, "Final Destination 5" is really a perfect "Final Destination" movie. It hits all the notes a "Final Destination" movie must hit. If you are keen on watching a motley crew of babies (and also the requisite out-of-place adult) cheat death's design simply to be chewed up and spat in glorious fashion within the ensuing hour . 5, you cannot miss it. If you are not, well, your hard-gained ticket-investing money is most likely better used elsewhere. Take a look at five reasons that fans desire to make it for their next "Final Destination" a few days ago following the jump! Collapse Out of the box the situation using its forerunners, "FD5" starts by having an incredible vision of the impossibly horrible accident -- this time around a suspension bridge collapse -- our primary cast narrowly eliminates because of the hero's protests. Five movies in to the franchise and also the "FD" team has not lost an oz of creativeness. The destruction is awe inspiring and extremely, disturbingly cringe-worthy -- but in keeping with death's design, it is also laughable in the own shocking and uncomfortable way. A Brand New Wrinkle In Death's Design Talking about death's design, you will find newer and more effective twists towards the way our heroes can cheat dying in "Final Destination 5," because of newer and more effective information in the always enigmatic and try to welcome Tony Todd. This time around around -- spoiler alert, I guess -- dying could be side-walked by killing someone else and buying and selling their lifespan for yours. It is a new twist that makes way for any fun final act, even when this is an absolutely ridiculous one. Confront Your Fears When they serve not one other purpose, the "Final Destination" movies are constant memory joggers that some fears are simply too great to ever overcome. Feeling guilty about visiting the massage parlor looking for a "happy ending"? This movie will not remove your guilt. Have you got a crazy anxiety about anything coming near or, god forbid, touching your vision? Speaking like a leading person in the holy-garbage-nothing-can-ever-touch-my-eyes-ever glasses-putting on community, I'm able to say there's one nearly ten minute slice of screen time you are likely to wish to shield your vision from. And merely whenever you think it's safe to appear back... (No) Escape In the finish during the day, that stomach-twisting reaction is precisely why "FD5" labored for me personally: even when the figures can't escape their very own fates (and are available on, it's not just a spoiler to tell you just how they cannot, could it be?), the film provides pure escapism for that audience. Everyone else I saw the film with were ooh-ing and ugh-ing whatsoever from the right moments, giving in completely towards the bloodstream bath and shock factor. No a person's stating that "Final Destination 5" is definitely an award-champion, however it knows exactly what it's and what its audience wants... also it provides individuals things in spades, lasers, acupuncture needles along with other assorted utensils. The Ending I'm able to say forget about. Just watch and revel in. Inform us what you believe within the comments section as well as on Twitter!

'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' Trailer: Suspect Everybody
Recently, we have learned much better than to evaluate a film by its trailer. But "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy" is certain challenging that ideal. Another trailer has hit the net thanks to MSN, and at first glance the Cold War-set espionage thriller certainly looks perfect. The film won us over once it introduced that it is leads incorporated Gary Oldman, Tom Sturdy, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Toby Johnson, John Hurt and Ciaran Hinds, but this take a look at "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy" also implies that it will likely be putting the ensemble of stars to get affordable use. Take a look beyond the jump! Last month the worldwide teaser hit the net and properly whetted our appetite for additional. But this more direct consider the movie is just one of the most popular trailers that we have seen all seasons. "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy" is all about a conspiracy, just in case you skipped it, but what's secret is that people only obtain a brief tease of the items that conspiracy is with no entire plot being distributed. And goodness as we aren't intrigued because of it. Oldman plays a lead MI6 who's forced from retirement to research a real estate agent in the Ussr that has made his distance to the ranks of MI6. Same with it Mess, Tailor, Solider or Spy? A clip does not even imply that it's one within the other. It has been a complaint recently that movie trailers for movies such as the first "Iron Guy" or even the unsuccessful romcom "Leap Year" hand out the whole story within the two-minute video that's said to be tease it, and it is so refreshing to determine that "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy" has steered clear of this problem. Actually, we'd argue we are much more intrigued through the movie because its trailer am cryptic. Fortunately, the film has been launched on November 18, therefore we do not have very lengthy to hold back to discover who the mole is. What have you think about this new "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy" trailer? Inform us within the comments section below or on Twitter!
